May 11, 1980
Dick Ruthven had his best season as a major leaguer in 1980. Settling as a dependable #2 behind ace Steve Carlton, Ruthven won 17 games in 1980 and was a major factos in the team winning the NL East. Against the Reds, Ruthven gave up 10 hits, but did not walk a batter and was able to dance around the hits to give up only two runs, which would be enough to beat Mike LaCoss and the Reds.
