May 18, 1980 - Houston 3, Phillies 0
Nolan Ryan turned the pitching mastery around on the Phillies, shutting out Mike Schmidt and the rest on four hits. Randy Lerch, the Phils' hard-luck pitcher of 1980, gave up three earned runs on five hits in four innings in taking his sixth straight loss to start the season. Pete Rose had three of the Phils' four hits, and Manny Trillo tripled in the fifth, but would be stranded there. Pittsburgh's loss kept the Phillies in 2nd place, three games behind the Bucs.
