The Phils went into the final game of the opening series looking for a sweep against the Expos. Unfortunately, Larry Christenson and a series of relievers would fail the Phils on this day. Lerrin LaGrow would cough up what would prove to be the winning run in the top of the 9th, spoiling what could have ben the first comeback of the season.
