July 16, 1980 - Phillies 4, Houston 2
The Phils turned to rookie Bob Walk to stop the bleeding of a three-game losing streak, and he delivered a near-masterpiece. Walk went the distance in throwing a three-hitter, beating the Houston Astros 4-2. Walk gave up two earned runs in his nine innings, both in the fourth on Art Howe's home run. Manny Trillo scored two runs and Pete Rose and Bake McBride scored one each for the Phils. The runs were knocked in by Lonnie Smith, Bake McBride, Garry Maddox and John Vukovich (playing for an injured Mike Schmidt for the second straight game).
