The good news for Randy Lerch is that the Phils won a game that he started - that just didn't happen very often.  The bad news was that he wasn't around to enjoy it.  Lerch was chased in the third inning, giving up four runs to the Houston Astros.  His lineup had his back in this game, though, scoring three runs in each of the third, seventh and eighth innings to earn reliever Kevin Saucier his fifth victory of the season.  Mike Schmidt hit his 27th homer to contribute to the offensive output, and Lonnie Smith stole three bases, leading to three runs on the Phillies night.  Dickie Noles pitched 3-1/3 innings of relief with Lerch being lifted early once again.
