June 15, 1980

The Phillies completed the three-game sweep of San Diego with a barrage against former Phil Rick Wise.  Wise, who was sent to the St. Louis Cardinals in 1972 in return for Steve Carlton, was in the process of winding down his career.  He was a good pitcher, if not a hall-of-famer like Carlton.  This day, though, Wise was battered for four runs in an inning and two-thirds.  Bob Walk, again barely adequate himself, was the beneficiary of the offense and earned his second win.
