June 16, 1980

Randy Lerch once again fell victim to some tough luck.  He pitched well in this game against Los Angeles, giving up just two runs in ten innings of work, but could not come away with the victory on his record.  His effort did, however, pay off for the Phillies, who managed to overcome the Dodgers in the 12th inning on a Manny Trillo double off of future Cy Young winner and broadcaster Rick Sutcliffe, scoring Larry Bowa with the winning run.
