Manny Trillo was my grandmother's favorite player on the team (later it was Juan Samuel before she passed away in 1985). We grew quite close and both became great Phillies fans during the 1980 season. Trillo was a steady, if not spectacular second baseman for the Phillies, and later was part of the "five for one" trade that brought Von Hayes to Philly. Manny may have had his best season in 1980, with career highs in batting average and home runs. Manny won the MVP of the 1980 LCS, batting .381.
