CLEARWATER, Fla. – A couple of dozen Philadelphia Phillies worked out in cold weather yesterday, the last day of informal workouts.

The team was set to officially begin its 34th year of spring training this morning with 40 roster players and six minor leaguers.

Three players – Greg Gross, Lonnie Smith and Dickie Noles – called to say they didn't know when they would be arriving because of the snow storm that hit the Carolinas over the weekend.
