It was not a pitcher's paradise in Philadelphia. The Phils got 15 hits against Rick Rhoden and assorted pitchers from Pittsburgh, scores 11 runs... and lost. Phils' pitchers, led by Randy Lerch, gave up an astounding 21 hits to the Pirates. Not a single Phillies pitcher - and there were five in all - escaped without surrendering a run. Officially the game was lost by Ron Reed, who gave up three in his two innings at the end of the game. I think it is safe to say, however, that this was truly a "team loss."
