July 18, 1980 - Phillies 7, Atlanta 2

For the second day in a row, the Phillies beat a pitcher named Niekro. This time, the victim was hall-of-famer Phil Niekro, who fell to the Phils and Nino Espinosa 7-2. Espinosa was effective, giving up two solo home runs, the only hits given up in eight innings of work. Mike Schmidt returned to the Phillies lineup and made his presence known, homering off Niekro in the sixth. Lonnie Smith went 2-for-4 and scored two runs, while Pete Rose went 2-for-4 and knocked in three runs as well as scoring one. Dickie Noles pitched a scoreless ninth to record his sixth save.
