The stumblin' bumblin' grumblin' Phillies continued their downward spiral in the third and final game of the series against the Cincinnati Reds. Starter Nino Espinosa was largely ineffective, giving up four runs, five hits and five walks (against zero strikeouts) over six innings. Warren Brusstar was even worse, coughing up three runs over his inning and on-third inning of work. Mike Schmidt did hit his 24th home run of the season, but that was not nearly enough as the Big Red Machine has its way with the Phillies this game.
