Dick Ruthven was all the Phils needed against the Houston Astros this night. Ruthven scattered five hits and only one walk in blanking the Astros 3-0. A Mike Schmidt sacrifice fly in the fourth was all Ruthven would need, but the Phils did add a pair of insurance runs in the eighth on a Bake McBride single.
