August 12, 1980 - Phillies 5, Chicago 2
After the completion of the suspended game, the Phils and Cubs played their regularly scheduled game. Steve Carlton was masterful, giving up just two runs on 8 hits in pitching a compelte game win, his 18th of the season. Mike Schmidt hit a home run for the second day in a row (his 29th), and Bob Boone put the Phils ahead for good with his eighth homer of the season, hit in the Phils' eighth inning. Cubs starter Mike Krukow stayed even with Carlton until that eighth inning, when things fell apart for him, and suffered his 12th defeat of the season. Lonnie Smith had three hits and Manny Trillo two for the Phils, who had 12 hits on the game.
