August 7, 1980
The hitting woes continued for the Phillies, who had only four hits on the night against John Fulgham and John Littlefield. However, this time they were able to bunch three of those hits in the fifth inning and, coupled with a Mike Schmdt walk, scored three runs in that inning, one more than the Cardinals could muster in the game. Steve Carlton, who knocked in the final run with a single, would win his seventeenth game of the season.
