September 25, 1980

Another game of great pitching from both sides.  The Mets lost starter Pat Zachry after the second inning, but got great relief work from Roy Lee Jackson, rookie Jeff Reardon and Neil Allen.  Between the three of them, they gave up just two runs on seven innings of work.  However, the Phils' pitchers were able to beat that.  Marty Bystrom won his fourth game, giving up one run in 6-2/3 innings, and was followed with stout relief work from Dickie Noles and Sparky Lyle.  The Phils scored both of their runs in the fifth inning off Jackson from RBI singles from Garry Maddox and Lonnie Smith.
