September 30, 1980

No nail-biting in this game, as the Phils scored early and often against the Chicago Cubs and Lynn McGlothen.  The Phillies got the jump, scoring four runs in the first inning, and never looked back.  Amazingly enough, the Phils scored 14 runs without the benefit of a single home run.  The Phils would make the most of their opportunities, scoring four runs in three different innings.  The beneficiary of this onslaught was Marty Bystrom, who won his fifth (and final) consecutive start, going seven innings and allowing two runs to the Cubs.  Dickie Noles drew the mop-up duty, adding two scoreless innings to his statistics on the evening.  Of note is Orlando Isales, who tripled in his first major league at-bat, knocking in two runs in the process.
