Yet another pitcher's duel, this time between the Phils and the Expos, locked in a two-team race for the division title.  Dick Ruthven, with help from Tug McGraw, and David Palmer battled throughout the game.  The Phils could only score twice - one in the second on a homer by Garry Maddox, and once in the ninth on a homer by Bake McBride.  That second homer, though, was the difference in the game, as the Expos could only tally once against Ruthven.  The win put the Phils a game above Montreal for the division lead.
