Dick Ruthven wrapped up a series of successful pitching by picking up his fourteenth win of the season, going eight and a third innings, giving up three runs before giving way to Tug McGraw to earn the save. Manny Trillo scored two runs on his two hits, the lone Phil with a multi-hit game. Ruthven, Mike Schmidt and Larry Bowa knocked in the runs for the Phillies.
