The suddenly resurgent Phillies rolled into Los Angeles after sweeping the Giants, and kept their momentum going. Rookie Bob Walk outpitched Dodgers ace Jerry Reuss 3-2, winning his 10th game of the season. Mike Schmidt blasted his 36th homer of the season, and Greg Luzinski contributed his 17th. With the win, the Phillies stayed a game above Montreal and Pittsburgh.
