September 8, 1980 - Phillies 6, Pittsburgh 2
Coming back from the disaster in Los Angeles, the Phils looked to rookie Bob Walk to put them back on the winning track. Though he didn't get the win himself, he did put the Phillies in the position to win, which they did with a four-run eighth inning. That gave Tug McGraw, who took over for Walk in the seventh inning, his first victory of the season. Bake McBride went 4-for-4, and Mike Schmidt went 2-for-4 with his 37th home run. Montreal was idle, so the Phillies climbed to within a half-game of the Expos.
