October 8, 1980 - NLCS Game 2 - Houston 7, Phillies 4
Series tied 1-1.
The Phillies may have won Game 2 of the NLCS except for a baserunning blunder. Bake McBride was stopped at third after losing sight of the ball on a Lonnie Smith single that should have easily scored the speedy McBride from second base. The Astros capitalized on the mistake by scoring four runs in the tenth inning to win 7-4, tying the series at a game apiece. The Phillies also failed to take advantages of other opportunities, stranding fourteen baserunners.
