September 5, 1980
Another pitcher's duel between the Phillies and the Dodgers saw the Phils' four-game winning streak come to an end. Steve Carlton was sparkling, giving up just one run in seven innings of work. The only blemish was a Ron Cey home run given up in the second inning. Unfortunately, he was one-upped by Los Angeles' Don Sutton, who shut out the Phils through eight innings before giving way to Don Stanhouse in the ninth to seal the win for the Dodgers.
