October 7, 1980 - NLCS Game 1 - Phillies 3, Houston 1
Phillies lead series 1-0.
Game 1 of the NLCS was played in the Phillies' Veterans Stadium. Both team had a tough time clinching the division- with Houston even having to play an extra game to get past the Dodgers. The Phils drew first blood in the first game, winning 3-1 behind Steve Carlton, who threw seven innings of one-run baseball. Tug McGraw earned the save with two scoreless innings. Greg Luzinski hit his only home run of the post-season, which would also be his last as a Phillie.
